A source of contemporary art and design for interior designers, architects, and art lovers.
Mojave Art was founded by artist Renee Torres in 2019 as an online store to showcase unique gallery quality fine art prints and photography, wallcoverings, and design objects, by contemporary women artists and designers.
Mojave Art is a platform for cultural exploration and inspiration from cosmology and the natural world, through carefully curated partnerships and collections. In addition to large-scale prints and wallcoverings, Mojave Art presents a selection of art books and rare-one-of-a-kind pieces. We hope the artwork represented fuels curiosity for the environment, and respect for all living things.
Mojave Art aims to elevate the voices of female artists and designers and give them visibility. Our collaboration framework journey began with an independent project called “Bookshop” with cafe-gallery-bookstore Head Hi in Brooklyn, NY in 2020. We are continuing this journey with an annual collaboration.
Our artwork is printed at a fine art printing studio in the Arts District of Los Angeles. All prints are archival and museum quality. Our printers collaborate and print gallery level projects with clients like MOCA, Gemini G.E.L., Hauser & Wirth, Shulamit Nazarian, David Zwirner, and many other contemporary brands. Our printers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fine art prints and photographs, of all sizes and shapes. With them, we ship world-wide and ensure that your prints complete their journey safely.
Our wallpaper collections are printed in Van Nuys, Ca. Advanced technology allows us to print on a wide range of luxurious substrates, match to a subtle degree in color, and print at high resolutions without sacrificing quality. We stand behind the outstanding quality, and craftsmanship of our product.
We would love to work with you on your upcoming project!
About Renee Torres, Artist and Owner of Mojave Art
Raised in California equally between the Mojave Desert and the Bay Area, Renee Torres is a visual artist, designer, and nature enthusiast (she also makes incredibly groovy playlists). Renee studied Menswear Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, before taking off to New York to work for brands such as Dover St. Market and Acne Studios in 2012.
It was during this time in New York that she fell in love with the work of architects Ricardo Bofill, and Lina Bo Bardi, and begun diving into the world of furniture design and architecture. This new found passion led her to embark on a new journey into the world of interiors, art, design, and ultimately found Renee back in California working for brands such as Knoll, MidcenturyLA, and Restoration Hardware.
During the shelter-in-place mandates of 2020, Renee began to hone in the overall vision of Mojave Art, with a clear focus on supporting women designers and artists. She is currently expanding her own practice to incorporate surface design, and has begun research and development for a custom mural and wallpaper collection for Mojave Art.
Renee is a member of the Female Design Council, which is an organization dedicated to providing a strong professional community for women in the design industry.
