One of my favorite chairs is the MR Rattan chair by Mies Van Der Rohe. It’s been stripped away of ornament and shows purity of form and function. His methodology inspired me to create pared down images of the Los Angeles neighborhood I live in. Using bokeh, I worked to distill and reduce the forms to a state of absolute simplicity. In the night, these light orbs are sublimated and become a language of their own.
