Panoramic 35mm Film Series
The panoramic 35mm film series was shot over three years in Southern California. I used a Horizon Perfekt panoramic film camera, purchased years ago in San Francisco. The camera lens captures an entire 180 degree view, often creating a curvature on the horizon line. The project took me to Joshua Tree National Park, Trona Pinnacles, Trestles Beach, Encinitas, a few secluded beaches along the Pacific Coast Highway, and explorations across the southern deserts. The film’s graininess, accidental double exposures, and light leaks —captured the mystic qualities of Californian wild places. All film negatives for this series have been untouched digitally, revealing the analog soul of the terrain.
